Garden Wheelbarrow ~ # 2249 by Threads in Bloom. There is an old wheelbarrow in my yard that I use to put potted plants when I don’t have ground space. I thought it would be fun to do a stitched interpretation. Do you see the little snail in the grass and butterfly fluttering above? The Butterfly button and tiny button on the hub of the tire are included in the design package. The 5X7” design is printed on cream 12 X 12” fabric. Stitches I used: stem, French knots, couching, split stitch, fish bone, buttonhole, spoke, straight/satin/long-short, double cast-on, cast-on double drizzle, lazy daisy, spider, wrapped stem & lazy daisy, leaf, bullion.
EdMar thread I used: Glory: 053, 059, 120, 206, 311, 330 Iris: 050, 114, 149, 201, 330 Frost: 117 Lola: 099, 120 Nova: 065
Specialty floss I used is included in the design package: The Gentle Arts, Threadworx and YLI silk ribbon. The Gentle Arts floss gives the old faded paint and worn tire look. Additional stitching supplies other than your basic needles, hoop and scissors: chenille needle, pin cushion and recommended ~ Thread Straighteners
