Swayin’ in the Breeze #2177 ~Every Summer we have Dragonfly in our back yard. Their favorite resting place is on a Cattail growing in our pond. There it sits ~ swaying in the breeze. Stump work wings are for the flighty Dragonfly with a fuzzy Turkey work thorax an elegant abdomen using Swarovski crystal beads and bugle-beaded tail.. The Cattail is easily created with chenille cord. Water, leaves, flowers, grass, weeds (yes grass and weeds – remember I said it was in back yard ), are all simple stem, straight and lazy daisy stitches, buttonhole stitch & turkey work. EdMar thread I used: Lola #167, Iris #50, 403, Ciré #120, 220, Glory #326, 52 ( and 328 optional) #49 & 120 (note: #49 is if green Dragonfly or #122 for the orange. In the design package: fabric print design, instructions, Dragonfly & Cattail package: wing fabric, wire, Swarovski crystal beads, rayon sewing thread, Krienik cord & filament for wing bugle beads, glass beads, Cattail cord, thread for water large plastic darner needle & Toothbrush ( now I have your curiousity ~) You will need Milliner needles: size 3, 5, 7, 9 & a hoop ( in the Needles aisle; hoop is in the Necessities & Fun Stuff department.
