Good morning, at least here in California. We have gray skies again today, getting a little rain. I am certainly glad I am here in California and not in the East. I really feel for all of my friends who are and have been getting the horrid weather. Some have ask if I am anywhere near where the mud slides happened..no, I am a few hundred miles north. That was such a tragedy and after the terrible fires this Fall. But, I would like to tell you about some brighter things happening at Threads in Bloom.
There have been some changes with a couple of my vendors effecting how I had to price my designs. I have lowered the price of most of my designs. Some only have 1-2 left and there are some I am evaluating to have reprinted, such as Wedding Cake and Friends and Family Tree which were both very popular. I would like your input and request for reprints. Prices are lowered $2.00-$5.00. Take a look at the new prices. This is not a sale, it is regular prices reduced. www.threadsinbloom.com (EdMar designs remain the same price)
There are been some thread colors added..these are not new EdMar colors, but colors I didn’t carry before. Threads in Bloom carries all colors in Lola, Iris and Glory. If you don’t find the color you need, let me know, I will be happy to add it to my inventory of colors. Due to some of your request, I know carry John James Milliner needles assorted size 3-9 $2.50 per package. https://threadsinbloom.com/product/milliner-needles-john-james-3-9/ Bookmark sets are back in stock – each set includes 2 pieces of fabric, two card stock bookmarks, two designs with instructions ( 5 sets – 10 designs) with 2 crystal clear bag to keep the bookmark clean and make a nice gift.
Centering Rulers and No-slip Morgan hoops ~ I lost my vendor for these items, but I was able to purchase a small supply. When the ones I have are gone, they will be gone.. If you want (need) either of these items, it would be a good idea to get them while still available.
My design “Through the Arbor” will be released at the BDEIG Seminar in June and taught by Mary Crichton. I hope if you are able to attend the Seminar you will take Mary’s class. I can guarantee one thing ~ you will have an awesome time at Seminar. The design has a new stitch, a charm, Swarovski crystal, a bit of silk ribbon. Here is a peek at the design. It was really fun to design and stitch. The design will be released to the public after the Seminar begins ~ mid June.
Many of you ask about my chicks, no longer little chicks. They are about 1 1/2 yrs old. I was surprised, they kept laying from 0-2 eggs a day..I wasn’t expecting any this time of year. Now they are almost back to full laying. We are getting 3-6 a day ( I have 7 girls).
Besides Brazilian Embroidery, after my son put up lots of shelves in my sewing room last summer so I could get everything organized again, I have been enjoying sewing fabric crafts – just small things: LOTS of pot holders, tote bags, aprons and microwave bowl cozies. I have made over 120 potholders…donated and gave them away. I am trying to get a restock of them – have more to give, then I want to try to sell them, so I can keep making them. I have found awesome fabrics, all kinds of beautiful flowers, food, wine & grapes and lots and lots of animals..even crazy chickens. I made the aprons and totes for Christmas gifts and friends birthday.
For Christmas Karl is taking me to Monterey for a couple days, the end of January. I haven’t seen and smelled the ocean for 2-3 years.. I am way overdue. When he ask me what I wanted for Christmas, I told him I wanted to ‘see the ocean’ the next day I corrected that with ‘I want to GO to the ocean’ with his humor, he would have given me a picture to ‘see’ the ocean. I can hardly wait.. most of the time I want to spend watching those waves crash on the rocks, but there just happens to be a nice fabric store there too – Back Porch fabrics..a quilt shop. I will post some pics after we return..well of course it wouldn’t be before I go….
Thank you everyone for all your 33 years support of Threads in Bloom ~ Hoping to make it to at least 35 years ( I will be 75, but Threads in Bloom is so much a part of ‘who’ I am.) Let me know of designs you would like to see reprinted. Stay warm and well ~
