Good morning on the Friday the 13th…so far, so good.. infact ~ very good !
I have added a new color to my inventory #415 ~ Chestnut and Dark Walnut. I have been wanting a thread color like this for ages; not stark black, but so dark brown it almost looks black – like espresso. It is highlighted with a touch of Chestnut. It is available in Lola, Ciré, Iris and Glory https://threadsinbloom.com/product-category/thread/
Best of all is the most recent weight of thread EdMar has added to their collection~ Tabé (Tab-ee) At this time there are just a few colors ~ I have 8 of them
Best described as a loose twist Lola, with 2 ply. As with all EdMar thread it has a lovely sheen. Use #1 Milliner needle. Because of the looser twist, I would recommend using it for Satin Stitch (perfect for larger leaves), Stem Stitch ( heavier stems), Cast-on and Cast-on Double Stitch, Detached Buttonhole….anything you would use with Nova. Tabé has a little more twist and not as heavy as Nova. The eight colors I have now is: 000, 018, 053, 086, 121, 135, 146 and 168. If you have a particular color # you want, send me a note, if it is available from EdMar , I will certainly add it it my inventory. I am very excited about this new thread and will be creating a new design with this thread the focus. https://threadsinbloom.com/product/tabe-edmar-thread/
Besides working on a new Threads in Bloom design, I am having the pleasure of doing a test stitching someone else’s design for the instructions. One of the things I have enjoyed most on this design, she has used some stitches I usually don’t use. I am getting to learn some new stitches while testing her instructions, which so far have been very good. Soon we will have a new designer to enjoy her visions of Brazilian Embroidery.
Oh, darn, I forgot I wanted to fix some artichokes for lunch – be right back…OK, I am back, they are cooking..lunch in about an hour. Tomorrow is Farmer Market ~ Heirloom tomatoes, peaches, figs and see what else looks good. Actually almost everything looks good, so fresh. Haven’t done very much sewing this past couple weeks. I am happy to say I have been working on several order, with a few more to go that I hope to finish over the week end. If you are waiting for your order, I am working on it.
Just watching the weather; it is still pretty comfortable 86º at noon, but suppose to get to 100º and for the next week over that… Good time to be indoors to work on orders, stitch and read. I do face the heat 3-4 times a day to go see and visit with my chicks, take some ice with treats (corn, peas, peaches..) frozen inside. Since I don’t have Grandchildren, here is a picture of my girls.. a dish full of watermelon and rind ~ they have to fight over the same piece, just because it is what the other has…kids ~ Have a nice week end.
